WATER VALLEY – Home-town Pizza will start serving breakfast Monday, a decision sparked by the closing of Downtown Inn and Coffee Parlor that will orphan a loyal morning crowd. Hometown Pizza owner Greg Segroves reported the morning meal will be served from 7 to 10:30 a.m. and his new morning menu will include some of the favorites from the Downtown Inn menu as well as a few additions.

The traditional offerings  will include pancakes, French toast, grits, sausage and biscuits, bagels, sausage and gravy biscuits, oatmeal and others, along with breakfast pizza slices and omelets. And, of course, coffee will be in the lineup with hopes that Kira Rutherford’s morning regulars will make the switch.

“Kira shared with me what her big sellers are, what people like,” Segroves explained.

The pizza joint has been open for more than three-and-half years and has already earned a reputation of delicious menu items that doesn’t always come in slices.

“I am looking forward to adding breakfast, that is one of my three favorite meals,” Segroves added.
