School Board Meeting Scheduled June 25
The Water Valley School Board of Trustees have scheduled a school board meeting Monday, June 25th at 6:30 in the central office. The public is invited to attend.
First Baptist Church Is Accepting Applications For Preschool
Water Valley First Baptist Church Preschool is now accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year’s Pre-K Program. A class for children who are four years old by September 1, 2017 is being offered. Class will be held each week, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. A registration fee of $100, along with a completed form, is required to complete the application process. Tuition will be $100 per month.

Weekend Music Planned At The Pickin’ Shed
The Pickin’ Shed will host live music this weekend, starting Friday night, June 22, at 7 p.m. with the Ellis Family, Cathy Rowsey-Vaughn and Ron Sessum, the House Band and a new trio. The action continues Saturday night at 7 p.m. with Karaoke night. Singers are invited to participate.
A potluck meal will be served both nights at 6 p.m., bring your favorite dish and join in the fellowship. Donations accepted on Friday night and there is a $5 cover charge on Saturday night. Alcohol is prohibited.
Long Branch Cemetery Association Schedules Meeting, Workday
The Long Branch Cemetery Association will have a meeting Saturday, June 23, beginning at 9 a.m., to discuss raising funds for the cemetery, as well as the repairing of monuments and graves. The cemetery is located between Oakland and Water Valley.
Everyone who has family buried there, as well as interested individuals, are encouraged to attend. You will need to bring water to drink and a chair. For further information contact Sharon Bell Hamilton at (479) 970-3652.
Registration Continues At Water Valley Schools
Registration at Water Valley High School and Junior High and Davidson Elementary School continues during the month of June. At the high school, parents/guardians can register at the office Monday to Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Report cards may also be picked up during those hours. At the elementary school, office hours for registration are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Annual Stewart Reunion Is Scheduled July 7
The annual Stewart reunion is scheduled Saturday, July 7, in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 1020 N. Main and S. Court Street in Water Valley. Weekend Events At VFW Include Friday Bingo, Saturday Dance
Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100 on Friday night, June 22. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 7. Providing music for the Saturday Night Dance June 23 will be the Bobby Hood Band. Everyone is invited to attend these events. Post 4100’s home is located at 11535, Highway 315, west of Water Valley.
Deadline To Register For Homebuyer Class Is July 2
A homebuyer education class is scheduled at the Yalobusha County Extension Building on Thursday, July 12th, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. This certified program will allow homebuyers to receive a certificate for credit toward various potential home buying loan agencies. Lunch will not be provided at the class; however, participants will take lunch from 12-1 p.m.
There will be a $40 dollar fee for the class. Payments may be received through money order only. To receive a registration form for this course, please contact Allyson Coleman at 662-675-2730. Participants must register by Monday, July 2nd at 5 p.m.
