B.R.A.V.E. Girls Schedule  Two Day Event 

B.R.A.V.E. (Bold, Remarkable, Admirable, Victorious, Empowered) Girls will sponsor “Let’s Talk,” a two-day session. The session follows the group’s inaugural Girl’s Conference on June 2 and many of the participants reached out to the committee members to have an one-on-one session. 

The interest sparked the organizers to host the two-day session. The girls will be able to come and have an hour session with a committee member of their choice. This event is scheduled  Friday, July 13 (1 to 6 p.m.) and Saturday, July 14, (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at Bayson Chapel Church in Water Valley. You can register by going to Armisha Fondon’s Facebook page. WVHS Class Of 1958 Will 
Have 60th Class Reunion 

The Water Valley High School Class of 1958 will have their 60th class reunion Saturday, August 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a luncheon at noon in the Woodland Hills Baptist Church’s Fellowship Hall. Annual Stewart Reunion Is Scheduled July 7

 The annual Stewart reunion is scheduled Saturday, July 7, in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 1020 N. Main and S. Court Street in Water Valley. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a pot luck dish to share at noon. If you have questions, please contact Patricia Pratt at 473-4788 or 473-6529.


Order Of Eastern Star Set Meeting Date

Water Valley Chapter No. 5 Order of the Eastern Star will have their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, July 10, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. The meeting will begin with a Pot Luck Supper at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Arts Council Sets Meeting Date

The Water Valley Arts Council will be having it’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 10, at the Water Valley Main St. Office at 207 N Main Street at 6:30 p.m.

Topics for discussion include planning details for the 10th Water Valley Arts Crawl which will be Saturday, October 6th. Good ideas and new faces are always welcome and you don’t have to be a member to come to the meetings. For further information call 318-655-2623


Valley City Lodge Meets July 5

Valley City Lodge No. 402 will have their stated Communication on Thursday, July 5, in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. All members are hereby reminded that the meeting time will be 7:30 p.m. during Daylight Savings Time. Please make an effort to attend and support your local lodge.


No Bingo At The VFW This Week, Saturday Dance Is Scheduled

 Bingo will not be played at VFW Post 4100 on Friday night, July 6. Music for the Saturday night dance on July 7 will be by the Bobby Hood Band  Everyone is invited to attend these events. Post 4100’s home is located at 11535, Highway 315, west of Water Valley.


Job Corps Will Have Open Enrollment At Local Libraries

The Batesville Job Corps Center will hold open enrollment beginning July 17 and continuing on the following third Tuesday of each month for the Coffeeville and Water Valley area.  Representatives will be at the Water Valley Library at 10 a.m. and the Coffeeville Library at 1 p.m. They are looking for young men and women that would like to start a career in various classes that the Job Corps has to offer free of charge. Church Will Give Away Clothes

New Providence M.B. Church will have clothes and other items to give away from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. The church is located off Highway 315, south on the Pope/Water Valley Road.”Hot dogs will also be given away,” stated Rev. Albert Booker, pastor of the church.
