Soccer Registration Extended For Another Saturday
Magnolia Youth League has extended soccer registration at Crawford Sports Complex with a final registration period on Saturday, August 11, from 10 a.m. until noon. The cost is $45 and will include a jersey and soccer socks. Players will be required to wear shin guards during all games. Annual O’Tuck School Reunion Is Saturday
The O’Tuckolofa School Reunion will be held August 11, beginning at 10 a.m., in the O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. All former students are invited, as well as their family and friends. Lunch will be provided.

Head Start Center Plans Open House
Water Valley Head Start Center will have open house August 10, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for the 2018-2019 school year.
“We are looking forward to seeing all our Head Start parents and children,” stated Helen Willis, Center Administrator. This will give you and your child the opportunity to meet their teachers and other staff at the Center. “We are looking forward to a ‘GREAT’ year of serving you and your family,” concluded Ms. Willis. Lions Club Sets Meeting Date
The Water Valley Lions Club will have its next regular scheduled meeting at the depot on Tuesday, August 14, beginning with a meal at 6 p.m. This will be a business meeting at which the finance committee will present the proposed budget. All Lions are urged to attend.
Frame Up/Basement Gallery Hosts E.M. Skinner’s Exhibit
The Frame Up/Basement Gallery, located at 125 Courthouse Square, Oxford, will host E. M. Skinner’s “All Abstract” exhibit during the month of August. Gospel Music Jubilee Planned At Gore Springs Community Center
A Gospel Music Jubilee will be held at Gore Springs Community Center August 11, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission will be $5. Groups scheduled to take the stage include Servants Quartet, Promise Land, and Malcolm Lindsey. There will be a concession stand with cheeseburgers, hamburgers, sausage dogs, hot dogs, popcorn, coffee, drinks, and desserts. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a night of good gospel singing and fellowship.
Lafayette Master Gardeners Invite Public To Presentations
The Lafayette County Master Gardeners invite the public to attend two free presentations on Saturday, August 18, from 12:30-2:15 pm at the Lafayette County Oxford Public Library, located at 401 Bramlett Blvd in Oxford.
The first presentation is from 12:30 to 1:15 as Yalobusha County ANR Extension Agent Kyle Jeffreys will address the topics of turf grasses suitable for lawns in this area of the state as well as weed control and fertilization.
The second presentation is from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. with Matt Britt, owner of Clear Creek Farm who will speak on presentation and planning for fall and spring gardens. The event is free and open to the public.
Art Crawl Is Topic At WV Arts Council Meeting
The monthly Water Valley Art Council meeting will be Tuesday, August 14, at the Water Valley Main Street office located 207 N. Main Street at 6:30 p.m. Topics for discussion include the Art Crawl, scheduled October 6.

Blackmur Library Will Have Brown Bag Lunch Program
Blackmur Memorial Library will have a Brown Bag Lunch Program on Wednesday, August 15 beginning at noon featuring attorney Trent Howell. The free 45-minute program will focus on wills and estate planning, Medicaid and other legal topics concerning retirement and elder care. Refreshments will be served.
