VFW Hosts Weekend Events
Activities at VFW Post 4100 this weekend will include bingo, a dance, and a special Veterans Day program on Sunday. The action starts Friday night with bingo. The doors opening at 5 and games start at 7. Providing music for the regular Saturday Night dance will be the Bobby Hood Band. Music will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude at midnight.
City Departments Will Close For Veteran’s Day
City departments and City Hall in Water Valley will be closed Monday, Nov. 12, to observe Veteran’s Day. Monday’s Garbage route will run as usual.
Order Of Eastern Star Sets Meeting
Water Valley Chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star will have their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, November 13, beginning with a Pot luck Supper at 6:30 p.m. in the Masonic Temple on Champion Circle. The meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m. All members are urged to attend and support your local Chapter.
Compassion Will Distribute Food On Second And Third Thursdays
Compassion Food Ministry’s distribution dates for November and December will be different than usual due to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Distribution days will be on the second and third Thursdays of these months, November 8 and 15, and December 12 and 20. Please note these changes and arrange your schedules accordingly.
Stone Will Speak On Life In The Military At YHS Meeting
The Yalobusha Historical Society will meet Thursday Nov. 15, at 2 p. m. in its headquarters, the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church in Coffeeville. The speaker is John Burgess Stone, and his topic is “Growing Up in Coffeeville and Life in the Military,”. Refreshments are served afterwards, and visitors are welcome.
Arts Council Meets Nov. 13
The monthly meeting for the Water Valley Arts Council is scheduled Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Water Valley Main Street Association office at 207 North Main Street. Lions Club Pancake Breakfast Is Second Saturday In November
Water Valley Lions Club has rescheduled their next pancake breakfast for Saturday, Nov. 10, due to the power outage planned for the electrical grid in Water Valley for the first Saturday. Serving will begin at 6:30.
Annual Christmas Parade Will Roll Down Main On December 1
The annual Water Valley Christmas Parade, “Christmas In The Valley,” is scheduled Saturday, December 1, starting at 1 p.m. The rain date will be the following Saturday if needed. All churches, businesses, factories, school groups and individuals are urged to participate in the annual tradition. Contact J.C.
