Hopewell M.B. Church To Host Three-Night Revival
Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church will host a three-night revival beginning Sunday, Aug. 9, with services featuring Pastor Carl G. Ray of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
The revival will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9. Services will continue Monday, Aug. 10, and Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. each evening.
Pastor Kevin Lee will serve as host for the revival.
Services will be held at Hopewell M.B. Church, located at 985 County Road 169 in Coffeeville.
First Assembly of God Announces Revival Services
Water Valley First Assembly of God will host a week of revival services Aug. 10-14 at the church, 305 N. Court St.
Services will begin each evening at 7 p.m. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Matt Hill, an evangelist, singer and songwriter. According to the church, Hill currently has the No. 2 song in the nation. The church invites the community to attend the nightly services.
First Presbyterian To Launch Children’s SS Class
First Presbyterian Church of Water Valley will begin a new Children’s Sunday School class for students in grades first through sixth on Sunday, Sept. 6.
The class will meet each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and will include Bible study and singing. Lessons will focus on the unfolding story of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation and God’s plan of redemption through Jesus Christ.
The church said children’s choir time will emphasize training and equipping children to sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. The church welcomes children in grades first through sixth to attend. For more information, call the church office at 662-473-1421.
Miles Memorial Plans Yard Sale
The Stewardesses and Missionaries of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church will host a yard sale Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15, in the church fellowship hall, 207 Simmons St., Water Valley.
The sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
A variety of household items, living room furniture, clothing, books and other merchandise will be available for purchase. Church members said proceeds from the sale will support the church’s ongoing missions and community outreach efforts.
