City Offices, Department Will Close For President’s Day
All City of Water Valley offices and departments will be closed Monday, Feb. 18 to observe President’s Day. Monday’s garbage route will run as usual along with commercial route.
Extension Service Will Host Private Applicators Training
The Mississippi State Extension Service will host a private applicator’s training at the Multi-purpose building in Coffeeville on February 25th at 1 p.m. The cost for this class is $20. Please call the Extension Office at 662-675-2730 to reserve your seat.
English Department Sponsors African American Read-In
The Water Valley High School English Department is sponsoring the National African American Read-In – an evening celebrating and reading the works of African American poets and writers. It will be held on Feb. 26 at Bozarts Gallery from 6-8 p.m. All students (and their parents), staff and faculty from Water Valley School District, and community members are invited to participate. Jones Will Share History Of County’s Sheriffs At YHS Meeting
The Yalobusha County Historical Society will meet Thursday, February 21, at 2 p.m. in its headquarters the former Coffeeville Presbyterian Church. The speaker is Andy Jones and his topic is “Departed Yalobusha County Sheriffs.” Refreshments will be served afterwards. and visitors are welcome.
School Board Will Meet Feb. 19
The Water Valley School Board of Trustees have scheduled a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the administrative office. The public is invited to attend.
VFW Schedules Weekend Events
Bingo will be played at VFW Post 4100 Friday night, Feb. 15. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 7. Providing music for the regular Saturday night dance on Feb. 16, will be the Sexton Band. Music will begin at 8 p.m. and end at midnight. Post 4100’s Home is located at 11535 Highway 315, west of Water Valley.
