This has not been a good week for the Kilgore clan. We were able to enjoy a family gathering for Sunday lunch, even with all the various ailments our clan is facing. Rance was able to come as were Bo and Carolyn. Bo had surgery last Tuesday to replace his right shoulder. All went well but he is still extremely sore.
Rance had been to see his oncologist and discovered all his blood counts were up. His doctor told him that the new meds he wanted to prescribe would cost $15,000. Rance told him that he would have to stay on old meds because if he had to pay this, he would starve to death because he would not be able to buy food.
Wednesday I had to go to see Dr. Yates to get fluids because I had become very dehydrated. My lab work was okay except that my cancer markers were back up, so I had to go to hospital Monday for fluid to be drained. Then I was back to see Dr. Yates Tuesday to discuss a different chemo.
I enjoyed a nice visit Thursday with Becky York, Cathy Sartain and little Emmie Rae Terry. They brought Easter baskets for me and one for Bill and Jimmie – so nice of them to think of us.
Woodland Hills is just the best church, everyone is so thoughtful. They also brought me a beautiful Easter lily, and I am still enjoying it.
Wanda and Bud McCluskey called to tell us of the arrival of their new grandson Thursday. He weighed eight pounds, six ounces. Congratulation to them and his parents.
Things on the Cole hill were fairly calm until Saturday when great-niece Caroline arrived from Amory. She sure livens up the party. Michael and her mom, Missy, came for lunch Easter to bring Caroline’s Easter baskets and visit with us. They needed a change as they had moved Michael’s office to his new building and were exhausted.
Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers – seems as I will need them for sure this coming week.
