Mt. Liberty News

I hope everyone has had a great week. I’ve been busy as usual. Mom is still having a hard time post surgery, so we’re still needing prayers for her. It’s been a trying time but we know the Lord has a plan.

Bro. Grant Coffey brought us a message from Exodus 14:5-10 Sunday morning. This is when the Israelites saw the Egyptians coming after them and were afraid. At first, they cried out to the Lord like we’re supposed to do. Then immediately after, they start complaining. They said they were better off being slaves than to be freed and die in the wilderness.

They had witnessed a miracle of God parting the Red Sea, yet they still complained. We are pessimistic by nature. In the Book of Numbers, it tells us God gets angry when we complain. It shows a lack of trust. We can’t give things over to God only to complain when it doesn’t seem to have immediate answer. God does things in His own time. His time is perfect. We just have to have faith in His plan for our lives. He doesn’t want harm to fall upon us. Even when we’re afraid like the Israelites were, He’s with us. He’s with us always.

On May 18 we will be hosting our annual cemetery day. It is usually a good turnout. Folks from all over come and see relatives buried out there and there is a pot luck meal for lunch. The ladies from the church will be there hosting and all are invited. This annual event is great fellowship and, if you have someone buried out there, it is a great way to know what happens to keep the upkeep of the cemetery.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us at Mt. Liberty Church. Services begin at 11.
