I hope everyone had a great week. It’s been amazing at Mt Liberty. Several members of the church went to eat at Harmon’s Friday night and it was a great time with wonderful fellowship. It is so important to have a church family to spend time with. Church isn’t just a place you go hear a sermon. It’s a family that comes together for a common reason. We are to surround ourselves with people who are like-minded. We lift each other up. We worship God together. Life can really bring you down and it’s important to have people to count on. That’s a church family.
Sunday morning the ladies sang a special, “Hallelujah.” That is such a beautiful song and they did wonderful. Bro. Grant Coffey brought a great message on the stigma churches face when talking about the blood.
We see in Luke 8:43-48 a lady with an issue of blood touched the hem is Jesus’ robe and was healed. This lady had been suffering for 12 years. She was physically sick from losing so much blood. We also have an issue with blood. We are spiritually sick without the blood of Christ.
In Leviticus 17:11, it says the life of the flesh is in the blood. The atonement for sins is the blood. It was given for us. The blood of Jesus was given for us. Atonement is a debt. Our debt to God is sin. We need the blood to pay for our sins.
1 Peter 18-19 tells us we can’t be redeemed by gold or silver. In order for us to have eternal life, we need the precious blood of Christ. This is what saves us from hell. We should not be uncomfortable talking about the blood. We should rejoice in it. Without Jesus’ blood we have certain death, a spiritual death. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Hebrews 9:22). The blood gives us hope.
Next Sunday night, we will have a music night starting at 6 p.m. We would love to have you come join us. We have a lot of things in the works and are looking forward to sharing it with you.
If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us at Mt. Liberty. Services begin at 11 a.m.
