Town, Country Softball Rivalry Returns Sunday After Five Years

A longtime rivalry disrupted by a global pandemic will return Sunday in the Town, Country Annual Softball game in Water Valley. Coach Freddie Folson reported the rivalry was last played in 2019, and the Country Team has retained the trophy after winning that game.

“We are going to resume this friendly rivalry Sunday, Oct. 6, at Crawford Sports Complex,” Folson told the Herald.

The Country Team is coached by Brenda Conard, a long-time member of the Lady Troopers softball team. The Town team is coached by Folson.

“It is time to get that coveted trophy back to the Town Team,” Folson added.

The team that wins two out of three will win the contest. The first game is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
