The Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley has been having a gratifying month of planning ahead, working on ongoing projects, and welcoming our newest provisional class into our membership.
We met on Monday last to welcome 11 wonderful new provisionals into our group as we go through the process of detailing each project we have in the works. As we went down our meeting agenda, it gave us such a feeling of excitement for sharing what we do in our community with these exceptional new recruits.
We are so grateful that they have decided to give their time and compassion to join us in serving the children of Yalobusha County in all the ways we are able to while contributing new ideas and energy to come up with additional ways that the Junior Auxiliary can benefit our area’s youth.
We are so pleased this month to proceed with the new project that this past year’s provisional class has worked to develop and launch, Confidence Kits. Confidence Kits are hygiene packs that will be provided to children ages 8-18 throughout Yalobusha County.
Our goal is to promote hygiene education, and also support the well-being and confidence of young individuals in our community. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children in Yalobusha County, ensuring they have access to basic hygiene essentials and knowledge for a healthier future. We are also keeping very busy working ahead for Christmas! Project Santa is coming along well and we are reaching out to all community members that would enjoy adopting a child or sibling group to fulfill their wish list for Christmas this year. Giving to Project Santa is fun and easy and we can make it happen for you in several ways. If you would like to shop to fulfill a wish list or lists, let us know and we can provide you with a child or children OR the Junior Auxiliary is able to do the shopping for you! Bundles of Love is well into the school year, providing snack packs on the weekends to go home with students at DES and WVHS. We are expanding this month to serve students at Coffeeville Elementary School and Coffeeville High School, and are also very grateful to receive the continuing support of the Reedy Acres Foundation to fund this project along with quarterly contributions from the Beta Beta Club of Lafayette County. We are so fortunate as well to be receiving additional contributions for the project from the First United Methodist Church of Water Valley.
This past weekend our chapter was able to enjoy some fun in the sun at the first annual Coffeeville Elementary School PTO Fall Festival. The Coffeeville community enjoyed bouncy houses, games, hayrides, and food vendors all while the Junior Auxiliary handed out Halloween tattoos and glow sticks with the excitement of egg races and three legged races. It was a beautiful day to gather and enjoy the sunshine in Coffeeville.
The Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley will participate in the 2024 Fall Festival in Water Valley at the Crawford Sports Complex Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until noon. Please come for candy and costumes and to support the community. We will have lots of sweets and fun games! This event is always such a fun time at Halloween and we are so glad to join it this year.
