I hope you had a great week, we had an amazing weekend at Mt Liberty Church. We had our second annual All Saints Day festival and it was a wonderful time of fellowship with lots of laughs. We would like to thank Kristen Coleman from Oxford Inflatable for providing the bouncy house. The kids had a wonderful time. A huge thank-you to everyone who cooked and baked. It takes a lot to have an event of this magnitude. And, of course, to those who came out and participated, we thank you spending time with our family and letting us get to know yours.
Our very own little Avery Coffey had a birthday this week. She is such a precious little girl. Seeing her really takes me back in time. I remember her daddy growing up and now he’s a man with three precious daughters of his own. I’m very glad he and Molly share their sweet family with us. Leigh Anne Coffey wasn’t able to visit much this week, she was super busy working to get the festival together. She’s our driving force to stay organized and on task. I know I stand around waiting for her to tell me what to do next because my mind just doesn’t see the level of creativity hers does. But she encourages us for the talents we do have.
Bro. Grant Coffey brought another wonderful sermon Sunday morning. It came from 2 Timothy 3:16 about sound doctrine. The Bible is God-breathed. It is the true word of the living God. It was written over a span of 4,000 years by 40 men, and on three continents and not a single part of it contradicts itself. It is important that we are learning from the true word of God. Paul warned us that there would be false prophets and false teachings. We have to be careful of that. The Bible tells us the time will come that people will not want to hear the word.
We’re in that time. People want to hear what makes them feel good. There will be many good people in hell because no one told them Jesus is the only way to salvation. It doesn’t matter how much money you donate or how many days you spend on church, if you’re not saved by the blood of Christ you will not get to heaven. Those good things are part of it, but just part of it. So be careful who you listen to. Make sure if you’re teaching the word of God, you’re teaching the truth from his Word.
We have a few weeks to get ready for Thanksgiving. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11 a.m.
