Bryce Thomas Cook
WATER VALLEY – In loving memory of Bryce Thomas Cook, who passed away on Nov. 9, 2024, his family and friends will come together to celebrate his life and honor his memory. Born Aug. 25, 2022, in Memphis, Bryce brought joy and love to all who knew him during his brief time on this earth.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Kala Wheeler, and his father, Brandon Cook; along with his siblings, Anna Cook, K.J. Means, and Harrison Cook. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Greg and Machelle Howard, and Richard Cook.
Bryce was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sandy Cook.
Bryce’s contagious spirit and lively personality touched the hearts of everyone around him. His happy, spunky, sweet, and feisty nature brought light into the lives of those he encountered.
Visitation services were held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Nov. 16 at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at noon at the same location. Bryce was laid to rest at Yellow Leaf Cemetery in Oxford.
Ronald Moody
WATER VALLEY – Ronald Moody departed this life on November 16, 2024, at the age of 57. He was born November 9, 1967, in Water Valley to James and Grace (Hawkins) Moody.
Ronald confessed Christ, was baptized at an early age and joined Oak Grove CME Church. He sang in the choir and played the guitar until he moved to California. Ronald graduated from Water Valley High School, where he played football and played the trumpet. After high school, he started working at Oxford Cable then later spent most of his working years driving commercial trucks. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, riding horses, riding motorcycles and cooking. He was truly a country boy.
Ronald is survived by a son, Jeremy (Jamie) Freeman of Owensboro Ky; his father James E. Moody of Water Valley; a sister, Joyce (Craig) Weeks of Birmingham, Ala.; a granddaughter, Meah; a niece Erica (Zacchaeus) Chames of Birmingham, Ala.; a nephew, Aaron (Natalie) Weeks, also of Birmingham, Ala.; three great-nephews, Cason, Jaxson, and Jameson; one great-niece, Alina Grace; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Friends are invited to a memorial service honoring Ronald’s life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home.
David Lee Moya
WATER VALLEY – David Lee Moya of Water Valley passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on June 3, 1960, in Colorado Springs, Colo., David was a caring and hardworking individual who touched the lives of all those around him.
In the last few years, David was known for his dedication to the First Christian Church, where he found great solace and warmth from the congregation. He shared a special bond with Larry and Rachel Bell, who were like family to him in times of joy and sorrow.
David leaves behind his sister, Mary Jane (Craig) Hart; a brother who meant the world to him, Johnny (Norma) Moya; his brother-in-law, Don York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A steadfast and reliable soul, David was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need in where ever his travels took him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral services and ceremonies to commemorate David’s life will be held in the near future, allowing friends and family to come together to honor his memory and celebrate the life he lived. May he rest in peace knowing he was cherished by many.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David Moya and Alberta (Sandoval) Rhyne; and one sister Evelyn Marie York.
Haleigh Stewart
COFFEEVILLE – Haleigh Grace Stewart, a beautiful beacon in this world, graced us with her presence from Nov. 15, 2005, to Nov. 7, 2024. Known fondly as “Red,” she was born in Jackson, Tenn. and touched the lives of many during her short but impactful time on earth. Haleigh leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and a spirited essence that will forever linger in the hearts of those she encountered.
With a zest for life that knew no bounds, Haleigh’s warm embrace and infectious smile endeared her to all who crossed her path. A social butterfly, she found joy in the simple pleasures of friendship and adventure. She also cherished the small things like inside jokes, “jam sessions” in the car, late nights playing cards and spending time with her siblings.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home.
Haleigh leaves behind her parents, Tangie Cato and Randy Cato; her siblings, Judith Moore, Turner Cato and TJ Wilson; her nieces, Shelby and Oakley Jenkins; and her brother-in-law Bailey Jenkins.
