Holiday Miniatures Show Opens At Bozarts Friday

The featured artist for the miniature show at Bozarts this year is Kristin Lamberson, who is crafting tiny sets of magical landscapes including this scene, “Marshmallow Roasting: Mouse, Mole and Visitor.”
The Annual Holiday Miniatures show at Bozarts Gallery opens Friday, December 6, with an artists’ reception from 6 to 9 p.m.
More than a dozen local artists are showing their talent in small work. Bill Warren, Pati D’Amico, Hanne Gaycken, Michael Maxwell, Nancy Moore, Dane Noonan, Stacey Monteleone, Allison Movitz, Greta Koshenina, Amy Webb, and Pannawat Thamutok will be joined by advanced high school students of Thomas Grosskopf, a painter and gallery member.
There are three featured artists this year. Kirsten Dellinger and Minjoo Oh will present their photography project “Soul Connections: Our Morning Looking Project” in a set of corresponding visions and designs. Inspiring the audience to use their digital cameras creatively, they will guide viewers through their work.
The featured artist for the miniature show this year is Kristin Lamberson, who is crafting tiny sets of magical swamp landscapes. Kristin grew up in Idaho where she was drawn to nature and the outdoors. An advocate for wildlife, she currently lives in Holly Springs where she creates gardens visited by birds, butterflies, and animals. Kristin says, “The presciousness of the natural world still holds a prominent place in my adult heart as I continue to coax and create diverse landscapes that support wildlife.”
Kristin brings this love of nature to her art as she creates elaborate little scenes in which swamp critters have their own fantastical life in their dens. Inspired by doll houses and children’s books, these miniature scenes are filled with delightful details and the spirit of childhood magic.
As an adult, Kristin crafts from scratch the delicate hand-felted animals who live, eat, and play in a swamp shack or in a beaver lodge that also houses a grill and bath house! Commenting on her work, she exclaims: “Long live the child within us all!”
With miniature art works, that artists hope to delight adults and children alike as they bring the Christmas spirit to Bozarts’ holiday exhibition – now a Water Valley tradition in its 16th year.
The show opens Dec. 6 and runs through Dec. 20. The gallery is open Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
