WATER VALLEY – Get ready, Water Valley – the Chamber of Commerce has been as busy as Santa’s elves, and the Christmas parade this Friday, December 13, at 6 p.m. is shaping up to be the holiday highlight of the year! With over 100 entries confirmed, the night promises dazzling lights, festive floats, and more holiday cheer than a plate full of grandma’s Christmas cookies. This year’s parade has it all: twinkling floats, merry marchers, and of course, the man of the hour—Santa Claus himself. It’s going to be a night to remember!
To keep everything running smoothly and safely, the Chamber is reminding participants to maintain a steady pace, keeping 25-30 feet between entries to avoid any traffic jams. There should be no stopping along the route, as the holiday magic needs to keep flowing for everyone to enjoy. Participants are also asked not to jump on or off moving floats—let’s leave the flying to Santa and his reindeer. And when it comes to sharing holiday treats, candy must be handed out rather thaan thrown to ensure everyone stays safe and happy.
Don’t forget to dress warmly—it’s a night parade, not a Polar Bear Plunge, so layers, hats, and gloves are your best friends. Arriving early will help you grab a great viewing spot, but please stay back for your safety and the safety of the parade participants. Glow sticks and flashlights aren’t just festive—they’ll help you navigate safely in the dark. Keep an eye on your little ones and remind them that while floats might look tempting, they aren’t for hitching rides.
Water Valley’s Christmas Parade is more than just an event; it’s a chance to come together, celebrate, and remind ourselves why our little town shines so brightly. From the festive floats to the warm community spirit, this parade promises to be unforgettable. Whether you’re cheering from the curb or riding a float, let’s make this year’s event one to jingle all the way about.
