Thank you, Diane Dukes, for the beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day; and thank you, my sweet husband David, for the box of candy.
Diane Dukes said everybody had a good Valentine’s Day. All the kids got plenty of candy.
“You and Nancy were shocked to get y’alls’ valentine from me, but I hope y’all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed sending it,” Diane added.
Diane also said everyone enjoyed the Valentine get-together at church Saturday night. She didn’t go because she was afraid the weather was going to get bad. Kathy Dukes told her they had a good turnout and everybody seemed to have a good time.
Kirsti and Liam McClanahan visited Bobby Joe McClanahan and other family recently.
My up-the-road neighbor, Lila Myrick, goes to see her optometrist Tuesday in Greenwood.
Sadie Harper said Milton is feeling better. For his 82nd birthday Saturday, he received a table saw from his three children, Sheila O’Bryant, Ed, and Mit Harper. Sadie made him a red velvet cake, so we know he had a good day. Sadie is going Wednesday to UMMC to get a Prolia shot for her bones. It is administered through an IV and takes 15 minutes.
“I’m not looking forward to that,” says Sadie.
Phil and Ginger Harrison had a good week. Their son, Josh, did a good job singing and playing his guitar in church Sunday. They had a great lunch with Diane Harrison and then a good visit with Ginger’s Moma (Martha Box) and her sister, Aunt Pat.
Martha Box said she just pulled out her fur jammies as she continues to recuperate from surgery.
“But this is Mississippi, so I have my bikini as first layer. Lol I wish I had news but I’m still tied down with my foot up. Still being spoiled by the family. Watching movies with sister, Patty, as we sit,” Martha said. “Missing church but staying in prayer and blessed. Good visit with son, Ben, Monday evening. Ginger, Phil and the boys came Sunday evening.”
Diane Hill sent a great meal to Martha. Her sisters Joyce and Patty, have also been feed her. Her granddaughter, Marissa, has running errands and shopping for her.
Martha, it won’t be too much longer until you get back to feeling like your old self.
Deborah McCool said she and Tommy went to the Valentine party and supper at Tillatoba Baptist Church Saturday night. They really enjoyed themselves and reported a good crowd in attendance with lots of kids.
“Food was good and we ate too much. Vivian Simmons made a really great tasting Lemon Bunt cake,” Deborah said.
On Sunday morning Deborah and Tommy went to Batesville for breakfast again and then to Oxford for shopping and lots of looking. Deborah said Tuesday is PJ’s (their grandson) birthday.
“Can you believe he is going to be 26?” she asked.
That’s hard to believe. Seems like yesterday he was a little boy.

Daughter Donna came Sunday and ate turnip greens, peas, cornbread and chicken legs with us. Of course she swept the floors and cleaned the kitchen before she left.
Thought for the day; A good rule to remember for life is that when it comes to plastic surgery and sushi, never be attracted by a bargain.
