Congrats to sweet Alice Donovan for winning in her school’s art contest! Now Alice is on to district competition! I hope you win, sweet girl. She is the granddaughter of Johnny Tillman.
Our visitor Monday afternoon was son, Derek Deck, of Cleveland.
J.R Dukes and Ashley Julian won 1st place in The Mid South Couples Trail bass tournament on Pickwick Lake.
Conner Dukes has a cracked elbow due to an accident on a trampoline.
Cossar State Park will have bingo the 19th for everyone 55 and up. Bingo is scheduled every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the visiting center from 2 to 4 p.m.
On Saturday, March 15, the Cossar Spring Classic Disc Golf is scheduled at Cossar State Park. This will be a full day of disc golf sponsored by the Cossar State Park Friends. A barbecue sandwich, chips and a drink will be served for $8 (cash) each.
Martha Box went to her doctor for a check up last week. He said five more weeks of no weight on that foot! I know she is getting stir crazy.
Martha’s sister, Patty Wortham Vaughn, went back home Saturday. She will miss that sweet nurse, salad maker and dishwasher – for sure. Her other sister, Joyce, is still on duty.
“Joyce and brother Jesse and my kids are still spoiling me,” Martha said. “Been sitting at the door soaking in the sunshine Saturday and Sunday.”
Martha reported a good visit with her son Ben; daughter, Ginger and Phil Saturday. Her niece, Angie, provided lunch – a fish plates from Catfish Hut that were exceptional.
“Joyce, Jesse, and I sure enjoyed it,” Martha added.
Martha is still missing church.
Phil, Ginger and the boys shared the song Ginger recorded that Martha’s grandson, Jake, sang at church.
“So good it had tears flowing down my cheeks!’ Martha added.
I’m sure it did Martha. He’s good!
David and I rode up the road Sunday afternoon and visited with grandson Waylon, Haven Rose and little Waylon. Holly had to work. Haven Rose fixed me all kind of play food with her little cook stove that she got for Christmas. Babies are a precious thing to have in your life.
Deborah McCool said she saw Maxine Tellis last week.
“She was in my office and she asked about you and said tell you hello,” McCool said. (Your writer used to work with Maxine and we became friends.)
After church Tommy and Deborah McCool went to Senatobia and spent the afternoon with their son, Christopher, Samantha and Hayden. Samantha’s mom Mary, is doing better.
Happy belated birthday to Bonnie Moody on the 3rd and David Toney on the 5th. Happy birthday on the 6th to Cheyanne Anderson; to Sara Grace Paris on the 7th; my sweet niece, Angie Beardain on the 8th; and Larry Cockerel on the 9th. May you all have a blessed birthday.
