Dr. Parker Honored For 40 Years Of Service
Dr. Linda Burgess Parker, formerly of Water Valley, was celebrated alongside her fellow founding members of the Mu Chi Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated during a special event on March 8. The alumni chapter commemorated 40 years of dedicated service to the founding members of Mu Chi Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
The Mu Chi Zeta chapter, founded on January 10, 1985, in Oxford, includes notable founding members such as Carnelia Pettis-Fondren, Ava D. Jackson, Valerie Willingham-Morgan, Romana Reed, Triumph Fay Davis-Shaw, Everlean Pettis-Mathis, and Nellie Pettis-Sanders.
Dr. Parker is a graduate of the Water Valley High School and the University of Mississippi and currently resides in Tulsa, Okla., with her husband, Johnny Parker, Esq., a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. She is the daughter of the late Charles and late Mary Burgess. Her recognition highlights her commitment to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., which was established on January 16, 1920, at Howard University.
