WATER VALLEY – A trail ride fundraiser benefitting the Wounded Warriors of Mississippi is scheduled Saturday, rain or shine at Oak Hill Stable. Event organizer reported the goal is to raise $6,000 for the organization. Robinson also reported the money donated to Wounded Warriors of Mississippi remains in the state.
“My husband is a veteran, and a member of our crew at the stable is a veteran,” Robinson noted.
Registration for the Wounded Warrior Trail Ride starts at 10 a.m. and the trail ride starts at 11 a.m. A barbecue meal will be served around noon. The cost of the ride with a meal is $30, and without the meal is $15. Wounded Warriors of Mississippi representative Paige Everett will speak at 2:30 p.m..
Robinson extends an invitation to everyone in the community to attend and support Wounded Warriors of Mississippi.
“I think we will have a lot of horses, I am hearing from people across north Mississippi and even surrounding states,” Robinson told the Herald.
“And if you don’t have a horse, bring a chair and come eat lunch, make a donation, listen to the speaker and sign up for the raffle,” Robinson said.
“There is no charge for veterans.”
Robinson also reported local support has been strong with many businesses providing door prizes. Deborah Hollister, an adjacent landowner, donated space for parking. Stud horses are prohibited and a negative coggins test is required.
Oak Hill Stable is located at 7030 County Road 224 outside of Water Valley. For more information, contact Robinson at (662) 202-8899.
