WATER VALLEY – As the summer starts to heat up, Blackmur Memorial Library’s summer program is beginning to wind down.
The Summer Library Program theme this year is Color Our World and attendees have been learning a lot about art in the world around them, playing fun games and making some great art of their own. In different session, the children have had the opportunity to play art-related games, make banners using repurposed pages from scrapped books and create bookmarks. Each attendee also received their very own sketchbook/journal to help them in creating their own art, poetry or writing.
This Thursday, June 26, will be the final session for this summer and will feature members of the Hubert Creekmore Society presenting a creative writing workshop for the kids. The session is for children ages 7-12 and will begin at 2 p.m. with story time for younger children beginning at 3:30 p.m.
If your child is interested in attending the writing workshop and has not already been registered, it’s not too late. You can stop by the library and register up until the time of the program, or you can find a copy of the registration form on the library’s Facebook Page. Registration isn’t required for story time.
Blackmur Memorial Library is located at 608 Blackmur Drive and is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. If you have any questions, please contact us at (662)473-2444 or at blackmurlibrary@gmail.com.
