Watermelon Queen Mya Harden
The Water Valley Town and Country Garden Club cordially invites the community to a timeless tradition filled with hospitality, and local pride.
On Sunday, July 20, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Queen’s Tea will be held at the Fountain Square Event Plaza in honor of Miss Mya Harden, this year’s Watermelon Queen. The event celebrates not only a young woman of remarkable poise, but also a cherished part of Water Valley’s heritage.
Miss Harden, the daughter of John and Tywanda Harden, is a 2024 graduate of Water Valley High School. She has completed her freshman year at Northwest Mississippi Community College, where she is pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism. With warmth, charm, and a deep connection to her hometown, she wears the crown with pride.
The Watermelon Queen Tea, a cherished tradition dating back to 1931, continues nearly a century later as the Garden Club proudly carries it forward with the gracious support of the elegant Fountain Square Event Plaza.
This special occasion is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to enjoy refreshments, good company, and a warm celebration of community spirit.
