Water Valley Plans 9/11 Memorial Walk
WATER VALLEY – The Water Valley fire and police departments are inviting the community to join them in a 9/11 Memorial Walk on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. at Crawford Sports Complex.
“We invite our entire community to come together in unity and remembrance as we honor the lives lost and the countless heroes who bravely served on Sept. 11, 2001,” Fire Chief Mark McGavock said.
This year marks the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people, including 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers who rushed into harm’s way to save others.
“This walk is a living tribute to the strength of our nation, the bravery of our first responders, and the resilience of our community when we stand together,” Police Chief Jason Mangrum said.
Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue.
