Kristie Hartley has been busy decorating business windows with her whimsical art. Every time I look at what she’s already painted, it makes me want to get up out of this chair and start decorating for Christmas. Keep up the good work, Kristie!
Deborah McCool said that Thursday night after work, Hannah Beavers and Dallas Boyett invited them down to their house for a fish fry. Dallas did all the cooking, except Hannah fixed some seasoned baked potatoes on the grill. Deborah said Dallas is a good fish cooker! Kimberly, Jason and Caitlyn Beavers were there, as were Dallas’ parents and brother, Michelle, Daniel and Denver Boyett.
“My friend Pat, no real exciting news except we are still here and still loved by Jesus,” says Martha Box. “Went to the lake exercising a few times. Great lunch at The Corner a couple of times. Those young’uns sure can cook!”
Martha also said that she and her sister Joyce went shopping at the new mall in Batesville. “We went in two stores — spent zero in the first, $15 in the second. Now I call that shopping!” Martha added.
Then brother Jesse Wortham, niece Renae, and that rambunctious 18-month-old cutie-pie grand of hers met them for lunch. “They fed us well!” she said.
Martha had a great day Sunday. “Beautiful, colorful, wonderful drive to church at Pine Grove Baptist. The service was special and loving, and the choir sang so well that I felt the spirit flow — especially when Mark Ellis sang a cappella! Wow, all that followed by Bro. Scarborough’s soul-teaching message. Had us ‘Amen’ and ‘Praising’ for sure!”
Martha ran into Addie and Cooper and their friends at lunch at the Tillatoba Truck Stop. “So great to have them ask me to make them some tomato gravy and biscuits soon. I said yes, when you guys come and decorate for Christmas and put up the tree,” Martha added.
Martha is still meeting for coffee at the Truck Stop at 3 p.m. each weekday. She said, “Come have a cup with us.” Linda and Harvey Darby, Kenny Parker, Ricky Dunn, Jerry Walton and several others are there occasionally.
Milton Harper fell in his bathroom and went to the emergency room. Everything checked out okay — no broken bones, just a few bruises.
Brandon McClanahan, Joey and Katelyn McClanahan, and Shelby Dewitt visited Bobby Joe and other family members this weekend.
Lila and Garry Myrick send happy birthday wishes to Liam McClanahan, who celebrated on November 4.
Nathan Hartley took his son, Rowland, hunting Saturday. Rowland killed a deer, and they enjoyed some fresh deer meat for lunch — and said it was delicious!
Visiting with your writer and David Deck on Sunday afternoon was granddaughter Francesca Holliday. Frankie swept the floors, cut my hair and then we watched a ball game. We always love spending time with Frankie.
Jacque and Adam Chambers received a lot of useful gifts at their wedding shower this weekend. Plenty of food was prepared by many friends and family members.
Happy birthday to Kay Thurmond Turner on the 12th, Mali Jarrell on the 13th, Marie Rowland and Samantha Irwin Dees on the 14th, Charlie Brook Bowman on the 15th and Diane Horn on the 17th. May you all have a great day celebrating your special day.
Happy anniversary to Brent and Tori Bowman on November 12. May you share many more wonderful years together.
