Band Celebrates Generous Donation

The Water Valley school bands celebrated a generous donation to their program from Lucia Holloway. The funds will help underwrite several of the band’s goals, including new uniforms, supplies and instruments, as well as attendance at district workshops and future local events.
The presentation was made Monday morning at the high school band hall and included Water Valley School District Superintendent Drew Pitcock and Water Valley High School Band Director Wes Brown.
Now in his fifth year at the helm, Brown has guided the Water Valley High School Marching Band since 2021, leading steady growth in performance quality, discipline and pride, and helping rebuild the program into one students now view as a strong and successful part of the school.
Holloway said one of her goals is to inspire others to become more aware of the band program and its needs, to attend concerts and halftime performances and to consider supporting the students in their efforts.
