It was snowing in Starkville Monday morning. A friend sent me a picture and it was coming down! If it wasn’t so far to Starkville, I think I might have tried to go over there. Enjoy the snow, Lonnie!
I hope all you readers had a fun and happy St. Patrick’s Day! Did any of you ladies get pinched for not wearing green? I wore green but got pinched anyway — ha ha!
Deborah McCool has what her husband Tommy had last weekend. She has been dealing with a cold and sinus trouble since Thursday.
Martha Box said it was a beautiful day Saturday. She felt good, worked some and played some. She then visited her sister Joyce and enjoyed a wonderful porch visit with Diane Dukes and her sweet girl, Terri Pullen.
“Been a long time, girls, so let’s do it again!” Martha said.
Sunday wasn’t as sunny, but they had a great visit at Willow Springs Assembly of God. “You know how I love the singing, Dave Box,” Martha said. She also enjoyed an encouraging message from Bro. Webb along with Spirit-filled singing from Sis. Webb. They were able to see and pray with loving friends and family.
After church, Joyce, Jesse and Martha enjoyed a delicious fish meal at the Catfish Hut. “And thank you, Angie, for that special gift,” Martha added.
She said the day ended with a visit from granddaughter Marnie Box, followed by daughter Ginger, Phil and the boys.
“Now I call that a happy, blessed weekend after a great week,” Martha said. “Thank you, daughter Candy Box and the great cooks at the Corner Store for such good food. Got me up and at ’em for sure!”
Faye and Nathan Hartley and Jessica McGee went to Starkville Saturday to watch Rowland Hartley play baseball. Mary Brett Hartley will be a cheerleader for North Delta Junior High next year.
“I’m so proud of them,” said grandmother Faye.
Terri Dukes Pullen and Diane Dukes went shopping in Southaven Saturday. They enjoyed lunch before heading to Batesville to shop a little more.
Sam and Anna Pullen welcomed their third bundle of joy, Ann Reese, on March 11. Her big sister was excited and couldn’t wait for her to come home, and her little brother could only say, “baby.”
Terri also visited with her friend Lauri McCullar on Saturday, while Diane visited with Joyce Stephens and her sister, Martha Box. Diane said they all had a good time talking and visiting and even reminisced about their days living in Greenville.
Gloria Hoop Marceleno is finally a grandmother. Little Elijah Kendall was born March 14, weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring over 21 inches. Proud parents are Joseph and Jessica Little.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Billy Edwards on the 16th, Jackie Nail on the 17th, Kay Calder Orton on the 18th, and Greg Luckas, Brandy Deck, Lisa Havens and Richard Ross on the 19th.
