WATER VALLEY – Water Valley High School recognized its senior baseball players during Senior Night ceremonies, honoring years of dedication to the program and looking ahead to their future plans.
Parker Turnage, a six-year member of the program, plans to attend the University of Mississippi to pursue dentistry. He said one of his most memorable moments was making “sludge” behind the center field wall.
Aiden Reed, who spent five years in the program, plans to attend Hinds Community College on a basketball scholarship. He said his favorite memory was singing “Need To” in the locker room before every game during his junior year.
Brennan Carter, a six-year player, plans to attend Holmes Community College to pursue welding. His most memorable moment came when he delivered a game-tying hit against South Panola during his senior season.
Allen Paysinger, also a six-year member of the program, plans to attend Mississippi Delta Community College on a baseball scholarship. He recalled a practice moment when he hid the ball behind his back, prompting his coach to joke, “You are not the Savannah Bananas.”
The seniors were recognized on the field with family members prior to the game.
