Mt. Liberty News
By Melissa Brooks

I hope everyone has had a great week. We’ve got a lot of things coming up in May and will be super busy. On May 16, we will have our yearly cemetery work day. Then on the 17th, we’re going to be at the nursing home singing. We will have our graduate celebration day on the 24th. And in all that, we have Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. I love when we’re busy, though.

Bro. Grant Coffey brought a great message to us Sunday. We started in Matthew 28:18-20. The resurrected Jesus is telling the 11 disciples in v. 18, “all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” When Jesus walked out of that tomb, the resurrected Savior, he was given all authority over everything. He is at the right hand of God. Satan no longer has authority in our lives. We are victorious through Jesus Christ. Satan will come in and destroy our lives, our marriages, our families because we let him, because we didn’t call on the authority of Jesus Christ.

Luke 10:19 says we have been given authority to stomp on scorpions and serpents. We don’t have to settle. We were given authority through Jesus Christ. Many Christians believe Jesus has authority but still live like victims. We’re not victims. Approach the throne boldly. You’ve been given some authority by the one who has all authority. You have divine protection. Satan is a formidable enemy. He is powerful. But authority trumps power. Don’t be a victim.

I hope you all have a great rest of your week. If you’re looking for a home church, join us. Services start at 11 a.m.
