The annual Hartley Bass Tournament is coming up Saturday, May 2, at the Hartley Farm. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the fun, fellowship and fishing.
Tracy Pegram, Tray Pegram’s father, is scheduled to have open-heart surgery Monday morning. Please add Tracy to your prayer list.
Deborah and Tommy McCool went to church Sunday morning and then on to Batesville. After eating lunch, they went to Lowe’s and did some shopping. Next, they visited their daughter Kimberly and Jason Beavers for a couple of hours before heading home.
Their daughter Angela Dukes and P.J. went to Alabama Saturday and spent the day with Angela’s daughter, Allison, and Cameron. She is doing well with her pregnancy — about two more weeks and Lily should be here. Deborah says she can’t wait. She also talked with their son Christopher McCool, who lives in Senatobia, and they are all doing well.
Martha Box is recuperating from all she accomplished as she plans for next week. She reported she was up and at ’em Thursday, working through the house. She cooked a roast and shared it with her neighbor and brother. She had a great visit with her sister Joyce Stevens as they pigged out on fish and hushpuppies Friday.
“And that was all we got done!” (Martha, I love the way you and sister Joyce diet!!)
Martha enjoyed a wonderful message at Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday.
“Brother Scarborough opens our ears and our hearts to Jesus! And you should have heard all that singing, especially those little kiddos,” Martha said.
Martha had a wonderful day with a visit from her favorite son-in-law, Phil Harrison — and oh yeah, his wife, her baby, Ginger!
Congratulations to a sweet friend, Breanna White, who will be getting her master’s degree at Ole Miss May 8.
Myra Dempsey is grinning from ear to ear as she looks at her new great-granddaughter, Storie O’Ryan Jones. Little Storie weighed seven pounds, 2.6 ounces, and was 18½ inches long — just a handful of pure love.
Saturday, your writer and David visited our daughter, Donna Garripoli, and our great-grandson Bradley Holliday was there as well. After we left Donna’s, we rode just up the hill to my sister Ann Hudson’s home and visited with her and enjoyed looking at all of her beautiful flowers.
Our visitors this week were JoJo McClanahan, Donna Garripoli, Bradley Holliday and Brad Holliday.
Our son, Tim Sullivan, came down one afternoon and planted cucumbers in the garden. So far, that’s all we have planted. I was hoping to get squash, hot peppers for pepper sauce and a few tomatoes planted before it is too late. We will see!
Celebrating birthdays this week are Taylor Moody on the 1st, Festus Hailey on the 2nd, Larry Franklin on the 3rd, Alan McMillian on the 4th, Ann Hart Hudson and Cole Burleson on the 5th, and Diane Lofton and Ollie Dogan on the 7th. I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating your special day!
Thought for the day… Some people aren’t just missing a screw, the whole toolbox is gone!
