Comedian Walt Karr of Oxford will perform during the Watermelon Carnival Music Fest at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at The Civic. The annual event is sponsored by the Town & Country Garden Club as part of Watermelon Carnival week.
WATER VALLEY – Carnival week in Water Valley always brings a little something special, and this year the Town & Country Garden Club is adding another good reason to gather with neighbors and friends.
The Watermelon Carnival Music Fest will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at The Civic. Sponsored by the Town & Country Garden Club, the evening promises entertainment, laughter, and the kind of hometown fellowship that makes Watermelon Carnival week feel like Watermelon Carnival week.
Among this year’s entertainers will be stand-up comedian Walt Karr. Originally from Pope, Karr now calls Oxford home. He is known for his laid-back storytelling style and the easy way he brings an audience along with him. Since 2022, he has been performing across Mississippi, sharing his humor with audiences.
Karr performs regularly in Oxford and is a member of the Oxford Comedy Collective, a group of stand-up comedians working to grow the local comedy scene and build community through laughter.
Tickets are $10 and are available from any Garden Club member, at the North Mississippi Herald, or at the door the night of the show.
Music Fest is always a fun way to start the Carnival spirit early, settle into a seat, enjoy the show, enjoy the air-conditioning and spend an evening with familiar faces in a place that means a lot to Water Valley.
