Davidson Elementary is fortunate to have a community that believes in investing in its students. From local churches to hometown businesses, community partners continue to make a lasting difference by supporting projects that enrich learning and create new opportunities for children.
One exciting partnership has enhanced the school’s outdoor learning environment. Garden teachers Katelynn Dillard and Alexe van Beuren will continue to provide hands-on gardening experiences for second grade students this upcoming year. The Episcopal Church of the Nativity provided improvements for the community garden area by generously agreeing to fund the replacement of the garden fence and the installation of a mulch pad beneath the picnic tables, providing students with an improved space to learn, explore, and grow.
Another significant investment comes from BankFirst. President Tyler Hill spearheaded the campaign to help BankFirst pledge more than $2,500 to support the school’s new STEM Lab. The donation will help purchase iPads, a cardboard cutter with construction tools, coin counters and sorting trays, and marble run building system. These resources will provide students with engaging, hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
These partnerships reflect Davidson Elementary’s commitment to helping every student “Glow as WE Grow.” By working alongside community organizations and local businesses, the school continues to expand opportunities that inspire curiosity, innovation, and lifelong learning.
In addition to these generous contributions, Davidson Elementary has partnered with Four Leaf Boutique to launch a First Day of School T-shirt fundraiser. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the installation of water fountains on the playground, providing students with greater access to drinking water during outdoor activities and creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for all. T-shirts are available in sizes ranging from Youth Extra Small to Adult 4X. Youth Extra Small through Adult XL are $19, while Adult 2X through 4X are $21. Order by July 17 to ensure Open House Delivery.
Davidson Elementary is grateful for the continued support of its community partners and looks forward to building even more opportunities for students to grow and glow together.
