Former Blue Devil Coach Will Sign New Book Saturday
Tales of Calhoun County, a book of five short stories written by Terry Allen, will be available in Water Valley on July 30. The former WVHS Head Football Coach, now living in Ripley, has based these stories on actual events from the county in which he was born and reared. They paint a picture of rural Southern life as he experienced it during the 1960s.
From the author: “Remembering those simpler times and the good people who lived them brings a smile to my heart. I hope you have the same response as you read Tales of Calhoun County.”
Copies will be available at a book signing event on Saturday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the bank building at the corner of Main and Wood streets, directly across from Turnage Drug Store in Water Valley. Allen will read excerpts from his new book at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
