Hometown Pizza Sponsors 2nd Annual Watermelon Festival Karaoke Contest

After a huge success at last year’s carnival, Hometown Pizza Cafe will again sponsor the two-day 2nd Annual Watermelon Festival Karaoke Contest. Danny Griffin will host the event which includes competition for two age divisions – children, ages 13 and under, and adults, ages 13 and over.

The preliminary rounds will get underway on August 5 for the adult division at 6 p.m. and on August 6 at noon for the children’s division. Six top contestants from each division will be selected to compete in the final round on August 6 at 7 p.m.

“We have three out-of-town judges booked to help with this contest,” reported restaurant owner/operator Greg Segroves. “Our karaoke host, Danny Griffin, does a great job sponsoring our karoake events and he has reached out to a number of talented musicians to compete in the carnival karoake contest,” Segroves added.

There is a $5 entry fee and cash prizes will be awarded to winners. Hometown Pizza is located at 407 North Main Street. Call 473-9332 for more information about the contest.
