Christian love and sympathy to Wayne and Mary Hill and family of Grenada, on the loss of their son, Jim Hill.
Kellie Young reported that they ended up having 42 kids and 31 volunteers at VBS. Great turnout!
Phil and Ginger Harrison had a great time in Jackson Friday night, where their son, Josh, and his band, “The War Horses,” played. “They did a great job,” said Ginger. Also attending the show was Julia Kerr.
Sadie Harper said she and Milton are doing okay. She attended a wedding Saturday that her daughter, Sheila O’Bryant, was maid of honor in. It was outside, and it was hot with a mild wind blowing. “I witnessed a first for me at this wedding,” she said. “After they said their ‘I do,’ they had communion. That’s a good way to start any marriage.”
Sadie is going to the doctor Monday, and she hopes he puts a shot in her knee. It hurts to walk, even with a brace on, she said.
I hope he gives you a shot too, Sadie, and that you get some relief.”
Debbie McCool texted me and said they are in Greenville, picked up Tommy’s sister, Alice Kellum, as always, and came down to see their sisters. “We haven’t been down since May,” she said. “Spent the day with them and went to eat together. Then we came to our hotel to rest. We’re going back to Leland tomorrow for a while and then heading home and back to work Tuesday. Planning on a cookout Sunday, the 20th, combining Tommy, son-in-law Jason Beavers, and our son Christopher’s birthday, and daughter Kimberly and Jason’s anniversary — 23 years for them.”
Martha Box is busy working on me-week, exercising her foot, her body and her soul!
“Walking with a smile, no pain, as my foot is really healing well. Made an ambulatory trip into Walmart. Did not try up and down all aisles, but got what I needed and tolerated it well. A couple of slow dances with good friends Saturday night was great exercise!”

Martha also reported about her meal outings.
“Great meal at the Corner Store with brother, Jesse. I encourage you all to try them out — great food with great service and company!”
Joyce and Martha visited our favorite Fish Hut at Enid Saturday. She reported the fish was so good, and those spicy hushpuppies make you slap yo’ mammy!
Martha also enjoyed a beautiful ride over to Pine Grove Church to worship with Ginger, Phil and the boys on Sunday.
“And what a joy it was to sit between Jake and Josh — two spectacular singers,” she added about her grandchildren. “And yes, the Spirit was there. The singing and Bro. Scarborough’s message about the Spirit filled me with joy and love! I am blessed. My little five-year-old neighbor just visited her Aunt Mott, then Ginger popped in. Now that’s neighborly love.”
Your writer’s sweet sister, Ann Hudson, visited a while Sunday. My daughter, Donna Garripoli, was here also.
Waylon and Holly Dukes took a trip to Biloxi celebrating their anniversary.
Happy belated birthday to Andrew Sosebee, who celebrated on July 7; happy birthday to Jack Henry on the 15th; to Patrick Darby on the 17th; to Dale Dukes on the 18th; to Holly Dukes and Tommy McCool on the 19th; to Patricia Lindley on the 21st; to Brother Mike Ramage on the 23rd; to Martha Box, Sandra Anderson, Patti Ramage, and Ernie Holliday on the 24th. I pray you all have a wonderful time celebrating your special day!
Thought for the day…My age doesn’t bother me. It’s the side effects.
