Diane Dukes and Kathy Dukes went to Greenville Saturday and had lunch with Yvette Correo and visited for a while. Yvette is planning her vacation, so we had to go see her before her trip. We have been true friends for 52 years. She told Kathy everybody needs a friend like your mother-in-law. That made my day. A true friend, she told Kathy that we are blessed to have each other.
David and I enjoyed a surprise visit from Susan and Phillip Bell of Caledonia with lunch on Sunday. Susan brought chicken with all the trimmings and I had cooked a roast with potatoes and carrots. I had sliced strawberries to go with ice cream, but we all ate so much no one wanted dessert. My daughter, Donna Garripoli, also joined us and we had a wonderful lunch and visit.
Mark and Faye Hartley had the Easter Egg Hunt for church at their house. Lots of people came. Lots of fun and food.
The little children look forward to this part of Easter, and Mark, Faye and Kristie always make it a big event for the children and for the grown-ups as well.
Debbie and Tommy McCool took a four-day vacation the last part of the week. They stopped and picked up Tommy’s sister, Alice Kellum, Thursday and went to Leland. They stayed with Tommy’s sister, Patsy. His sister Dorothy and her husband, Hubert, came over, and her son and grandson were there most of the time. They had cookouts each night and ate too much. While they were there, they had a big yard sale for two days. They did pretty good and got rid of a lot. They reported it was a good visit, but were so glad to get home Sunday afternoon. They missed our puppy dogs. Daughter Kimberly was puppy sitting for them.
My sweet sister, Ann Hudson of Grenada, visited with us Friday morning. We always enjoy her visits. She can make me laugh when no one else can.
Son Timothy Sullivan was weed eating Thursday and a rock flew up and hit him in the eye, and needless to say, he was in pain for a while. Being the son of a Taurus woman, he is stubborn like his mother and wouldn’t go to the doctor. I fixed him a cold patch to put over his eye, and he said it was better the next morning, but it certainly didn’t look better to me.
Martha met her sister Joyce Stevens for lunch at Enid. Her friend Mike Lovelace came in, and it was great to visit with him.
“Great fish, great company and no dishes to wash! It was wonderful to see so many there that I had just enjoyed church with,” Martha added.
Not a bad start to the first tournament with the Mid-South Couples Bass Club, said JR Dukes. He took second place and big fish with a 5.88-pounder. Turned that LiveScope to perspective mode and caught them throwing that prickly pear. JR’s fishing partner is Ashlee Julian.

Thought of the day: Nurse came in and said, “Doc, there’s a man in the waiting room who thinks he’s invisible. What should I tell him?” The doctor replied, “Tell him I can’t see him today.”
