Queen Will Be Crowned

  The twenty-fifth annual Watermelon Pageant will be held this Saturday, April 28, in the Water Valley Civic Auditorium. The Pageant will begin at 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley.

  All contestants must be residents of Yalobusha County. Watermelon Queen Candidates must never have been married. Contestants will be judged solely on stage personality, with queen candiates having to answer a question. Queen contestants must have never been married.

  In addition to Watermelon Queen, contests will be held to select “Petite Mister”, “Tiny Mister”, “Petite Miss”, Little Miss”, “Miss Pre-Teen”, “Junior Miss”, and “Miss Teen Age” Watermelon Royalty.

  Judges will be informed that formal pagenat wear is not required. The Civic Auditorium will be available for practice form 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the day of the pageant.
