Windsor Quality Food Company Acquires Oakland, Mississippi Manufacturing Facility

HOUSTON, Texas – June 15, 2007 – The Windsor Quality Food Company announced today that it completed its acquisition of a 140,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Oakland, MS from Community Bank.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  

The company will immediately begin renovating the former Mississippi Beef Processors plant which was built in 2003.  Windsor anticipates a plant start-up in early 2008 and employment of approximately 150-200 people when the first phase of renovations are completed.  The plant could employ more than 400 people across 6-8 production lines over time.  Details about the upcoming hiring process will be communicated in the next few months.

“We are very excited about expanding our operations to the state of Mississippi and especially pleased to engage the local Oakland community and surrounding counties”, says Greg Geib, President and CEO.  Windsor Foods considered a number of sites in various states, but chose this location due to “the infrastructure of the plant, the local employment community, and the support of the county and state officials and their respective organizations,” explains Geib.

This plant will produce a variety of frozen ethnic products under Windsor’s branded banners as well as its customers’ own brands.
