The Watermelon Carnival Music Festival will be held Thursday, August 2.
Along with the entertainment Watermelon Queen Margaret Black and her Court will be introduced. A pre-show presentation of railroad slides will begin at 7. On Friday and Saturday, August 3 and 4 there will be shopping all day in City Park. Entertainment in the park will begin Friday at 4:00, followed by Opening Ceremonies at 6:00. On Friday, August 3, Renasant Bank will sponsor a street dance from 8:00 until 11:00 with entertainment by “Class Reunion.
The Mechanics Bank is sponsoring a 3 mile run and a 2 mile walk. The event begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 4. Information and entry forms are available at the Mechanics Bank or by contacting Keith River at 473-2261.
The Water Valley Casey Jones Railroad Museum will be open on Friday afternoon from 1 until 5 and on Saturday from 10 until 5.
