Public Hearing To Allow Citizens Input On Taxes

Staff Reports

WATER VALLEY – A public hearing will be held on Monday, August 6, at 9 a.m. at the Water Valley Courthouse and Wednesday, August 8, at the Coffeeville Courthouse. The hearing allows citizen input on personal and real property assessments prior to supervisors accepting the tax rolls.
A notice published in the Herald and the Coffeeville Courier earlier in July gave Yalobushians until July 31 to file a written objection to an assessment.
The hearing follows a state-mandated property assessment in Yalobusha county as properties across the county were evaluated. The hearing is part of the legal process as supervisors prepare the 2007 – 2008 budget.
