Herald Coverage Leads To Fugitive’s Arrest

WATER VALLEY – Hours after the North Mississippi Herald hit the streets Wednesday morning with a plea from Water Valley Police Captain Roger Thomas asking for public help to catch an indicted sex-offender, Curtis Sea was arrested.
Thomas said that his department had been actively hunting Sea since he was indicted on nine counts of sexual battery and rape on children by a Second Judicial District Grand Jury in June.
“We had been actively hunting him since he was indicted,” Thomas said.
Thomas said law enforcement officials received several calls Wednesday moring concerning the whereabouts of Sea.
He was arrested by Water Valley Police and Yalobusha County Deputies on Hwy 32 East in Yalobusha County at 8:35 hours without incident. Sea is currently in the Yalobusha County Jail awaiting arraignment on the nine-count indictment.
“We would like to thank all the citizens who participated in the capture of Curtis Sea,” Thomas said.
