City Crime Report
Water Valley Police Capt. Roger Thomas reported the following activity in the Water Valley City limits during the past week:
• Made six arrests for driving under suspension;
• Made an arrest for trespassing;
• Made two arrests for domestic assault;
• Made an arrest for disorderly conduct;
• Made an arrest for marijuana in a motor vehicle;
• Took a report of petty larceny;
• Took a report of ID theft;
• Investigated a death;
• Investigated three cases of children in need of supervision;
• Investigated two crashes;
• Assisted the Miss. Highway Patrol with a crash investigation;
• Issued 29 traffic tickets.
County Crime Report
Neighborhood watch once again proved its effectiveness when a county resident reported seeing individuals entering the home of a neighbor on County Road 15 near the Velma community Monday night.
Deputies responded to the call at 8:47 p.m. and arrested Keith Cook, 19, of Water Valley and two juveniles, according to Sheriff Lance Humphreys.
The trio has been charged with one count each of burglary and larceny of a residence. All of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner, the Sheriff said.
In other county law enforcement news:
• Deputies are investigating a Saturday burglary on Rolling Oak Drive in Scobey. A camcorder and computer were reported stolen.
• A fight involving around 20 individuals was broken up by deputies at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning at the truck stop in Tillatoba. There were no serious injuries, according to Sheriff Humphreys.
