The North Mississippi Herald will publish a special sesquicentennial edition in honor of Water Valley’s 150th birthday, according to David Howell, editor. The Herald will print 4,000 copies which will be placed in each newspaper as distributed through advertisers and handed out on April 19.
What better way to let visitors and locals know about your business and potential specials during this once-in-a-lifetime event, said Melody Smith of the Herald’s advertising/graphics department.
Jack Gurner, the newspaper’s resident historian is seeking photographs for the special edition. “We’re looking for photos from all era’s Water Valley’s past,” he said.
Original photographs can be brought to the office at 416 N. Main Street or digital scans can be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
