Wildlife Tasting Banquet

Winners selected in last Thursday night’s Wildlife Tasting Buffet at the Multi-purpose Building in Coffeeville included (from left) Ronnie Stark with a third place nod for his dish, rudolph rumproast; Brian McCullar with a second place award for crappie bread; and first-place finisher Eddie Fly with elk cabobs. Saltillo resident and popular American Idol contestant Drew Poppelreiter provided entertainment Thursday night. After singing several favorites, he posed for google-eyed teenagers including (from left) Carlie Weeks, Nicole Edwards, Ashley Kellum, all of Coffeeville and Beth Tillman of Tillatoba.

Kevin Kimzey (left photo) keeps the stew stirred just right as the folks lined up for food at the well-attended event. Mississippi Musuem of Natural Science spokesperson Sherry Surrette (right photo), formerly of Water Valley, presented an informative program on endangered species in the state last Thursday night.
