Bull Ridin’ and Wrestlin’ Set For This Weekend

Calvary Rodeo Productions will bring a unique entertainment combination to Yalobusha County this weekend, bull ridin’ and wrestlin’.

    Gates open at 6 p.m. with sheep riding for the kids, and the rodeo begins at 7 p.m. at the Multi-purpose Building in Coffeeville. The area will be divided into two areas, with one half featuring bull riding and the other half featuring wrestling. Admission will be $8 for adults and $4 for children.

    Popular Memphis wrestler, King Jerry Lawler, will be one of the featured wrestlers. “If I don’t go at least 2.7 seconds on that bull I am going to give him a body slam,” said Lawler.

Other wrestlers include Sexy Brian Christopher, The New Nature Boy, Kevin White and many others.

    To enter the bull riding, call 662-223-0804 on May 19 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

    “We have used the sport of rodeo as a tool to share the gospel with fans and contestants throughout northeast Mississippi and Tennessee,” said organizer Tommy Wilbanks, who along with his wife, Tammy, own the rodeo company.

    The rodeo company is founded by Tammy and Tommy Wilbanks.
