Austin Brooke Mills will represent Water Valley in the Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant, August 1 and 2 at the Saenger Theater in downtown Hattiesburg.
Mills is the 18-year-old daughter of Tim and Lisa Mills and is a graduate at Water Valley High School.
Her grandparents are Lola and Harold Jaudon and Eva and Bob Williams, all of Water Valley.
Mills plans to continue her education at Mississippi State University majoring in Fashion Merchandising.
She was also selected as 2008-2009 MSU cheerleader
She is one of 40 contestants from across the state that will compete for more than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes and for the title of Mississippi Miss Hospitality 2008, a tradition dating back to 1949.
These contestants will experience a full week of special events, tours, interviews, and rehearsals, with two nights of competition beginning on
Friday, August 1 at 8 p.m. and the final competition on Saturday, August 2 at 8 p.m. at the Saenger Theater.
If she is crowned Mississippi Miss Hospitality 2008, she will travel the state and country promoting Mississippi’s tourism, industry and economic development. She will also serve as its goodwill ambassador for one year, showing hospitality to everyone she meets.
