Art In The Park This Saturday

Madison Hill (10) models the Junior Auxiliary’s Watermelon T-shirt while her Mom, Carole, shows off the new tank-top added to the carnival attire. The pair were also practicing their painting skills in preparation for Saturday’s Art in the Park set for 10 a.m. The JA sponsors this weekend’s event and various activities during the annual carnival in August. T-shirts and hats are available at the Country Club, Hair Trendz, Family Hairloom, and Turnages. The tank-tops are available only at Turnages.               – Photo by Jack Gurner

Art in the Park will be held Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. until noon in the Water Valley City Park. The event, sponsored by the Water Valley Junior Auxiliary, will feature art related fun for kids of all ages, according to Tiffany Webb, chairman.

“The Junior Auxiliary would like for the community to get involved in this event,” Webb said. Individuals, organizations, and businesses are urged to contact Webb at 514-4868 if they would like to participate or contribute to Art in the Park.

For those who can’t sponsor an activity, they can contribute by donating items to be used by the Junior Auxiliary, Webb added. “We want this to be a fun event for the kids, so anything you can provide will be greatly appreciated.”

Contributors include Junior Auxiliary, arts and crafts; Rotary Club, snacks; Burns Law Firm, drinks; Renasant Bank, popcorn, Main Street Association, Police Department, fingerprinting; Internal Medicine Association of Oxford, supplies; Mechanics Bank, blow-up slide; and cheerleaders, face painting.
