County Crime Report
Sheriff Lance Humphreys released the following law enforcement activity within Yalobusha County:
• Responded to a vehicle fire on County Road 232 on Aug. 3;
• Assisted another agency on Aug. 3;
• Recovered a stolen vehicle on County Road 240;
• Responded to the theft of car rims on County Road 212 on July 31;
• Responded to a call of a stolen deerstand on Hwy. 315;
• Worked a traffic accident on County Road 436 involving an automobile and 18-wheeler;
• Worked a traffic accident on July 31 on Hwy. 7;
• Answered a malicious mischief call involving a busted vehicle window on County Road 35;
• Answered a disturbance of the family on July 29 on Hwy. 330;
• Responded to an assault and trespassing call on County Road 117 on July 30;
• Took a larceny report for a stolen credit card;
• Made an arrest for simple assault after a father and son got into an altercation in Cossar State Park;
• Issued a warrant after a simple assault on County Road 117 on July 29;
• Took a report of larceny after a catalytic convertor was reported stolen on County Road 169 on July 25;
• Worked an automobile accident on July 24 on County Road 113.
• Issued a warrant after a trespassing and larceny call near the intersection of Hwy. 315 and County Road 122. The suspect entered private property and stole a gas can and gas.
City Crime Report
WATER VALLEY – Lt. Rick McCuan reported the following law enforcement activity within the Water Valley City limits during the past week:
• Made an arrest for driving under suspension;
• Made two arrests for simple assault;
• Made an arrest for DUI, first;
• Made an arrest for DUI, second offense and violation of the city open container ordinance;
• Made an arrest for shoplifting, first offense;
• Took a report of stalking;
• Made an arrest for prescription fraud;
• Made an arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia;
• Took a report of joy riding;
• Took a report of domestic assault;
• Took a report of statutory rape which is still under investigation;
• Made two arrests for public drunk and disorderly conduct;
• Took a report of petty larceny;
• Took a report of leaving the scene of an accident;
• Issued a citation for violation of the city open container ordinance;
• Issued 14 traffic citations.
