OAKLAND –    A victim’s accurate description of three purse snatchers led to the quick arrest of two juveniles and a 21-year old in Oakland Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Lance Humphreys reported his office received the call after three black males had entered the Oakland Natural Gas District office on Holly Street in Oakland and grabbed a purse from the lady who was working.

“They tried to distract her before they grabbed the purse and took off,” Humphreys added. Humphreys, Chief Deputy Jerry Ferguson and Investigator John Camfield were the first on the scene.

“Oakland did not have any officers on duty,” Humphreys said. After the victim provided an accurate description, a deputy thought he knew who one of the robbers were.

“We went to the house and found two of the three suspects that matched the description,” Humphreys said.  Antonio Johnson, 21, of Redbud Street and two juveniles were each charged with one count of strong-arm robbery and one count of grand larceny for their alleged role in the incident.
