Songwriters Take the Stage
It’s time again for Music in the Park. The concert series kicked off Saturday evening at 7 p.m. with a performance by Travis Lamb and special guest Ken Hart.
The Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the musical performance.
Lamb is a Nashville based singer, songwriter, and studio musician who began his music career when he was only nine. By age 12 he was touring with bluegrass legends Jim and Jesse Winchester playing banjo and singing harmony.
During his high school years, Travis toured the U.S. with an all vocal choir comprised of students from the state of Tennessee. Last spring, Travis was featured on Country Music Television’s “Can You Duet” as a member of the Lexington Brothers duo. Travis is tentatively planning to record his first solo record this winter.
Friend and co-writer Ken Hart will join Travis on stage. Ken is also making his way through the Nashville songwriting scene these days. The two write and perform together on a regular basis. Ken currently has two CD’s out, Ain’t No Trains & Driftin, and plans to begin recording his third CD this winter.
