Health Department Schedules Flu Clinic On Monday

The Yalobusha County Health Department will hold a special flu shot clinic on Monday, November 3, in the Yalobusha County Health Department from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, health department staff will focus on providing flu vaccinations so that all residents can complete the process quickly and efficiently.

Adult flu vaccinations cost $25. Pneumococcal vaccinations (otherwise known as pneumonia shots) will also be available at a cost of $44. Medicare Part B covers the cost of both vaccinations, so those with Medicare Part B should bring their cards with them to the clinic. Children, ages six months through 18 years, can receive flu vaccinations for $10.

Residents may also obtain flu vaccinations from private providers and some retail pharmacies.

Mississippi flu season typically begins in late December or early January and runs through March.

For more information about the clinic, the public can call the Yalobusha County Health Department at (662) 473-1424. To learn more about flu and pneumonia, visit Mississippi State Department of Health’s website at www.HealthyMS.com.
